1. Mula2 popular perkataan research gap. Tetapi bila aku dok tanya makna 'research gap' dan bagaimana ia contribute to knowledge, penganut mahzab gap pun guna pulak perkataan 'knowledge gap' dengan harapan adalah perkataan knowledge kat situ.


2. Ini definisi paling popular tentang gap oleh kumpulan fanatic gap yang memenuhi bengkel mencari gap, internet, ResearchGate dan Quora.

- Knowledge gap means phenomena that have not been studied
- Research gap refers to a knowledge gap that yet to be researched.
-The knowledge gap is that which needs to be filled by new research either because we know little or nothing.

3. Mula-mula perkataan ‘have not been studied’ diuar-uarkan… pastu tukar lagi kepada ‘under studied’. Mereka sendiripun pening. Bagi mengurangkan kepeningan maka disuruhlah PG baca ratusan artikel, supaya PG plak pening nak cari benda yang 'tak ada'.

4. Ini maksud knowledge gap yang anda boleh faham dengan membaca artikel berikut (spt foto).... dan sebut rujukan ini bila ditanya... termasuk dlm Viva.. PD atau interview..

"The knowledge gap hypothesis is the notion that individuals with a higher socioeconomic status absorb information presented by mass media at a faster rate than those with a lower socioeconomic status. This theory was first proposed in 1970 by Tichenor, then Associate Professor of Journalism and mass Communication, Donohue, Professor of Sociology and Olien, Instructor in Sociology, all three researchers in the University of Minnesota.

They defined the Knowledge Gap theory, “as the infusion of mass media information into a social system increases higher socioeconomic status segments tend to acquire this information faster than lower socioeconomic status population segments. Hence the gap in knowledge between the two tends to increase rather than decrease.”

In simple words , as the access to mass media increases those particular segments of population inevitable gain information faster and hence the wide gap increases with the lower economic status of the population.

5. So, macamanalah boleh kata tiada knowledge gap tiada PhD, sedang sendiri pun tak tahu definisi yang betul.
